A5–Blood

One Sunday after church I was reading. (No surprise.) Then I heard a deafening crack. It sounded like a pebble when it hits a metal floor. There was a wail. I stopped reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows and looked up. My oldest younger brother Joshua was yelping in pain, I’d never witness and heard him crying like this before. There was loads of whining. I didn’t know what to do. I looked around. My mom was barging down the stairs with monstrous foot steps as if there was a fire. I was scared worried and faint like all at the same time. It took me a while to but I finally realized that my brother had blood gushing from his head. My mom was petrified with worry. My other brother was… I swiftly went to get him napkins. I could hear my heart aggressively pounding.
After about an hour my mom had called everyone in the family. My brothers head had not stopped pouring blood. We decided to go to the emergency room.
Joshua was crying ferociously now. I felt so bad for him. He was begging and pleading my mom not to make him go. My mom , my brothers and I drove to the emergency room and waited for Joshua to be called. The wait felt endless. The front desk people were stubborn. We were waiting for 4 HOURS or MORE and it felt like sick people. (If that feels like any thing.)
My brothers name was finally called. The doctor said that he would need staples. We impatiently waited and the crack. I winced in pain as my brother got his staples. It sounded just like a normal staple except you could feel the other dud’s pain. I was very appreciative when it was over. We could finally go home.

Meghan I really liked the story it reminds me of the time my brother got a screwdriver stuck in his head we got it out but we took him to the hospital and he had to get it glued shut.

Your description of my worry was not exaggerated at all…if anything, you were kind to me! I feel lucky that this was our first trip to an emergency room in the 10 years that your daddy and I have been parents. It was really scary, wasn’t it? XOXOXO Mom
